Classification

Purpose

  • Self-shielded flux-cored wire (no gas, open arc), 58 HRC, high-hardness martensitic family — same principle as HRF 600 MC but without needing gas.

Why it works

Same as HRF 600 MC (martensitic, machinable only by grinding, holds a sharp edge), but self-shielded: the core generates its own weld-pool protection, no bottle or regulator needed — useful outdoors or in a cross-draft. The 58 HRC gives a good balance between abrasion and impact resistance.

Fields of application

  • Earth and mineral mining machinery, impact drilling and crushing devices, guide springs, cutting edges, bucket teeth and edges — in the field, without access to shielding gas.
  • Debarking knives, agricultural tillage, bucket lips.

Equivalence refers to the classification (AWS / EN ISO), not to product identity. In applications with a qualified procedure (WPS), validate the substitution before use.

Advantages

  • No shielding gas needed — open arc.
  • 58 HRC, good abrasion/impact balance.
  • Holds a sharp edge — machinable only by grinding.

Limitations

  • Machinable only by grinding, not by conventional chip removal — same as the rest of the martensitic HRF 600 family.
