Purpose
- Cr-Mo-V hardfacing electrode (AWS E 10-UM-60 GRZ, EN ISO E Fe14), 55–59 HRC — final layer on earth-moving and mining equipment, and on hard manganese steel parts.
Why it works
Moderate chromium, molybdenum, and vanadium alloying gives an abrasion-resistant deposit that can be further hardened after welding — unlike the FERVEO HRF 60/63/65 family, this deposit tolerates hot hammering and water quenching to further increase hardness.
Fields of application
- Final layer on earth-moving and mining equipment parts requiring high abrasion resistance.
- Hard manganese steel parts and crushing equipment.

Equivalence refers to the classification (AWS / EN ISO), not to product identity. In applications with a qualified procedure (WPS), validate the substitution before use.
Advantages
- Tolerates hot hammering and water quenching after each pass to increase hardness — unlike FERVEO HRF 60/63/65.
- Good balance of hardness and toughness versus the harder but more brittle FERVEO HRF 60/63/65 family.
Limitations
- Water quenching to increase hardness only applies to small joints with a small filling zone — on larger parts, hot hammering is the recommended option.
