Purpose

  • Variant of the FERVEO HRF 600 family (54-58 HRC), with higher chromium content, for the same final-pass abrasion-resistant surfacing.

Why it works

Same chromium-carbide family as HRF 600, with a somewhat different alloy (more Cr, no V or Mo) — same hardness range and the same use as an abrasion-resistant final pass.

Fields of application

  • Final surfacing pass on equipment under abrasion, same family as HRF 600.

Equivalence refers to the classification (AWS / EN ISO), not to product identity. In applications with a qualified procedure (WPS), validate the substitution before use.

Advantages

  • High hardness (54-58 HRC) against abrasion.
  • Higher chromium content than standard HRF 600.

Limitations

  • Apply as the final pass only — not as an anchor layer.
  • diameters 3.2 to 5.0 mm (100-230 A depending on diameter). If the electrode absorbs moisture, re-dry before use.
