Purpose
- Highest-nickel, low-hydrogen basic electrode of the sub-family, aimed at cryogenic service (AWS E 8018-C2 H4, EN ISO E 46 6 3 Ni B 42 H5).
Why it works
The highest nickel content of the sub-family's three steps extends the guaranteed service temperature down to -110°C, for nickel-alloyed construction steel in cryogenic applications — the cold-end limit of the FERVEO HTS ladder.
Fields of application
- Low-temperature, fine-grained nickel-alloyed construction steel for cryogenic applications.

Equivalence refers to the classification (AWS / EN ISO), not to product identity. In applications with a qualified procedure (WPS), validate the substitution before use.
Base metals
Cold-tough steels: 10 Ni1416Ni16S 255NL1-SS00NL1S275NL2-P460NL2
Advantages
- Guaranteed service down to -110°C — the coldest limit in the entire FERVEO HTS ladder.
- High ductility and crack resistance in the deposit, weldable in all positions except vertical-down.
- Higher deposit recovery.
Limitations
- Same mechanical-strength step as FERVEO HTS 460B6 1Ni HD P2 C3/2Ni — if cryogenic service isn't needed, those references are sufficient and a lower alloy cost.
