Purpose

  • Nickel-alloyed, low-hydrogen basic electrode, the first step of the enhanced low-temperature-toughness FERVEO HTS 460B6 Ni/2Ni/3Ni sub-family (AWS E 8018-C3 H4, EN ISO E 46 6 1 Ni B 42 H5).

Why it works

This sub-family's nickel content increases across three steps (this reference, then 2Ni and 3Ni) to extend the guaranteed service temperature further into the cold without changing the mechanical-strength step — this reference is the first and least-alloyed of the three.

  • Low-alloy, fine-grained steel requiring resistance at low service temperatures.
