Purpose

  • Super-austenitic Cr-Ni-Mo-Cu 20/25/4.5/1.5 rutile electrode (E 385-16) — for highly corrosive environments, especially reducing ones.

Why it works

More nickel, molybdenum and copper than the whole 316/317/318 family — copper adds specific resistance in reducing environments (acids), and together they give far higher intergranular and wet corrosion resistance, to 350°C.

Fields of application

  • Joining and surfacing of equivalent Cr-Ni-Mo-Cu austenitic steel and its castings.
  • Joining these steels to unalloyed or low-alloy steel.
