Purpose
- Low-carbon Cr-Ni-Mo 19/11.5/2.6 rutile electrode (E316L-16) — molybdenum adds acid resistance over the INX 308L base, for tanks and piping in food, textile, chemical and paint industry.
Why it works
Molybdenum (2.6%) is what sets this family apart from INX 308L — it markedly improves pitting corrosion and acid-attack resistance, which is why "316" is the reference grade for equipment in direct contact with acids or aggressive chemicals.
Fields of application
- AISI 316, 316L, 316Cb, 316Ti and equivalent Cr-Ni-Mo steels.
- Tanks, piping and equipment in food, textile, chemical and paint industry.
