Purpose
- Basic-coated variant of INX 316L — high ductility, good out-of-position weldability and cold ductility to -196°C, no preheat or post-weld heat treatment needed.
Why it works
Same Cr-Ni-Mo core as the rutile variant, but the basic coating gives a high-ductility deposit — especially suited to heavy sections, where preheating and post-weld heat treatment aren't required either.
Fields of application
- AISI 316, 316L, 316Cb, 316Ti and equivalent Cr-Ni-Mo steels, including 13% Cr ferritic types.
- Heavy sections and out-of-position work.
