Material no. (W.-Nr.)1.4842

Purpose

  • Cr-Ni 25.5/20.5 solid wire for joining and surfacing heat-resistant steel — scaling-resistant to 1150°C in air and oxidizing combustion gases.

Why it works

Besides direct joining and surfacing, the manufacturer specifies it as a ductile filling layer under harder top layers within the same INX range (1.4773 and 1.4820 — the latter being FERVEO INX 312's alloy) — in other words, it buffers under a harder final overlay.

Fields of application

  • Joining and surfacing of heat-resistant steel and equivalent castings.
  • Ductile filling layer under harder top layers (e.g. before FERVEO INX 312).
