Purpose

  • Rutile variant of the INX 307 family (~E 307-16 / E 18 8 Mn R 32) — same dissimilar-steel and manganese-steel joining use, with easier arc starting and bead appearance than the basic version.

Why it works

Same principle as INX 307 B, but rutile-coated: easier to strike and hold an arc, including on AC, trading a little toughness for better handling.

Fields of application

  • Joining of high-resistance alloyed and unalloyed steels, heat-resistant steels, Cr-stainless steels, 14% Mn steels.
  • Joint and filler welding between dissimilar metals.

Advantages

  • Austenitic weld metal resistant to thermal shock, tough down to -100°C.
  • Rutile coating: easy arc starting and handling — better manageability than the basic version (FERVEO INX 307 B).

Limitations

  • Lower toughness than the basic version (FERVEO INX 307 B) in exchange for better arc manageability.
