| DIN 8555 / EN 14700 | E 1 - UM - 300 |
Purpose
- Self-shielded flux-cored wire (FCW) — no gas —, same hardness level as the FERVEO HRF 300 family.
- Built for field surfacing, without a gas bottle.
Why it works
Same hardness level as the HRF 300 family (not the harder XHD grade), but the core generates its own weld-pool protection (open arc, no gas) — works outdoors or in a cross-draft, where a gas-shielded wire would lose protection. Also offered in larger diameters than the gas-shielded variant, for higher-volume passes.
Fields of application
- Surfacing on site or outdoors, without access to shielding gas.
- Rail points and crossings in field conditions.

Equivalence refers to the classification (AWS / EN ISO), not to product identity. In applications with a qualified procedure (WPS), validate the substitution before use.
Advantages
- No bottle or shielding gas needed.
- Suited for outdoor use/cross-draft.
- Same hardness level as the HRF 300 family.
- Offered in more diameters than the gas-shielded variant — covers higher-volume passes.
