Classification

DIN 8555 / EN 14700E 1 - UM - 300

Purpose

  • Gas-shielded (M21) flux-cored wire (FCW), same hardness level as FERVEO HRF 300 / HRF 300 R, in continuous-wire form.
  • For surfacing jobs where a higher deposition rate than an electrode is useful.

Why it works

Same hardness profile as the HRF 300 family (not the harder XHD grade), but as an M21 gas-shielded flux-cored wire — enables continuous semi-automatic welding, more productive than a covered electrode on extensive surfacing work.

Fields of application

  • Surfacing Mn-Mo rail points and crossings in semi-automatic production.
  • Extensive surfacing jobs where an electrode is too slow.

Equivalence refers to the classification (AWS / EN ISO), not to product identity. In applications with a qualified procedure (WPS), validate the substitution before use.

Advantages

  • Higher deposition rate than the equivalent electrode.
  • Same hardness level as FERVEO HRF 300 / HRF 300 R.

Limitations

  • Offered in a single diameter — for more diameter options, see the self-shielded FERVEO HRF 300 SG FCW.
