Purpose
- Basic-coated, medium-hardness (280-330 HB) surfacing electrode for Mn-Mo rail points and crossings, minimum deposit strength 880 N/mm².
- The deposit remains machinable — it can be sized after welding.
Why it works
The basic coating gives a clean, tough deposit that withstands the dynamic load of points and crossings without cracking, while staying soft enough to machine — the hardness/workability balance that rail parts need.
Fields of application
- Surfacing Mn-Mo-alloyed rail points and crossings.
- Medium-hardness overlays that need machining afterward.

Cross-reference
| Replaces EH 330 (Magmaweld) | Direct replacement |
| Replaces AS SD-300 (Askaynak) | Direct replacement |
Equivalence refers to the classification (AWS / EN ISO), not to product identity. In applications with a qualified procedure (WPS), validate the substitution before use.
Advantages
- Machinable deposit — sized after welding.
- Verified minimum mechanical strength of 880 N/mm².
Limitations
- Pre-heat 250-350°C before welding; re-dry at 300°C/2h if the electrode has absorbed moisture.
