Purpose
- High-deposition rutile electrode, for flat and horizontal-fillet position (AWS E 7014, EN ISO E 42 0 RR 33).
Why it works
Iron powder built into the coating raises the deposition rate well above a conventional rutile, with a soft arc and very low spatter — the trade-off is that it's only weldable flat and horizontal-fillet (not vertical or overhead).
Fields of application
- Series production in carbon steel where the part can be positioned flat or horizontal-fillet, prioritizing deposition speed.

Equivalence refers to the classification (AWS / EN ISO), not to product identity. In applications with a qualified procedure (WPS), validate the substitution before use.

Advantages
- Notably higher deposition rate than a conventional rutile — more productivity on positionable work.
- Soft, stable arc with very low spatter, despite the high deposition.
Limitations
- Restricted to flat and horizontal-fillet position — not weldable vertical or overhead.
- For even higher deposition, see FERVEO STL 420R0 XHD.
