Purpose

  • Low-carbon Cr-Ni 23/13 metal-cored flux-cored wire, for joining highly alloyed materials — service to 300°C, scaling-resistant to 1000°C.

Why it works

Same 309L class as the rest of the family, in metal-cored form — the 1000°C scaling resistance matches the basic INX 309 electrode, useful for dissimilar-steel joints that will also run hot.

Fields of application

  • Joining of highly alloyed materials: DIN 1.4301, 1.4713, 1.4724, 1.4828, 1.4878.
  • Joining of dissimilar steel types.

Equivalence refers to the classification (AWS / EN ISO), not to product identity. In applications with a qualified procedure (WPS), validate the substitution before use.

Base metals

Advantages

  • Resistant to scaling up to 1000°C.
  • Continuous service up to 300°C.

Limitations

  • High ferrite content in the deposit: risk of sigma-phase embrittlement under sustained exposure at 600–900°C — not recommended for critical structures in that range.
