Purpose

  • Low-alloy Mn-Ni-Mo MIG/MAG wire for high-elastic-limit steel (EN ISO 16834-A Mn3Ni1Mo, EN ISO G 62 6 M/C Mn3Ni1Mo) — the entry point of the Dratec solid-wire range in the FERVEO HTS ladder.

Why it works

The Mn-Ni-Mo alloy in solid-wire form gives the same kind of elevated mechanical strength as the FERVEO HTS electrode range, here for the semi-automatic MIG/MAG process — it needs moderate preheat before welding.

Fields of application

  • High-elastic-limit and low-alloy Cr-Ni-Mo steel (N-A-XTRA 55-60-65-70 and equivalents), with preheat between 100°C and 200°C.

Advantages

  • MIG/MAG process — higher productivity than a covered electrode in semi-automatic shop welding.

Limitations

  • Requires preheat between 100°C and 200°C before welding — unlike some FERVEO HTS ladder electrodes that don't call for it explicitly.
  • For higher mechanical strength in solid-wire form, see FERVEO HTS 690 MIG and above.
