Purpose
- Ni-Mo, low-hydrogen basic electrode, AWS class-90 variant under the tighter "M" designation (AWS E 9018-MH4, EN ISO E 55 6 Z (1 NiMo) B 42 H5) — same base EN ISO grade as FERVEO HTS 550B6 1NiMo HD P2.
Why it works
Same Ni-Mo alloy family as its class-80 sibling, composition-tuned to meet the AWS "M" designation (tighter diffusible-hydrogen and composition control than the generic "G") — a distinction that matters specifically when the qualified WPS calls for it by name.
Fields of application
- High-strength fine-grained structural steel and cast steel, with a declared service range of -60°C to +350°C — API 5L pipe up to X70.
