Purpose
- Austenitic manganese flux-cored wire (FCW) (≈13% Mn, 2.5% Ni) for surfacing and joining hard manganese-steel parts under severe impact and abrasion: crusher cylinders and hammers, jaws.
- Same principle as the FERVEO HRF 14 electrode: the deposit work-hardens under impact itself.
Why it works
Manganese austenite work-hardens under cold deformation (Hadfield effect): each impact compacts the deposit's surface while the core stays tough, without cracking. Being a gas-shielded (CO2/M21) flux-cored wire, it lays down more volume per pass than an electrode — useful for extensive surfacing of large crusher parts.
Fields of application
- Surfacing and joining crusher parts: cylinders, hammers, jaws.
- Direct surfacing on hard manganese steel (12-14% Mn), no intermediate layer.
