Purpose
- TIG Cr-Mo rod (1.2% Cr–0.5% Mo, EN ISO G/W CrMo1Si) — TIG welding of heat-resistant Cr-Mo steels up to 570°C, for piping and boilers.
Why it works
Adding chromium to molybdenum steps up creep and hot-oxidation resistance versus the FERVEO CMO Mo family — the same alloying principle as the FERVEO CMO 1B HD P2 80/15 electrodes, here in rod form for the TIG process's tighter weld-pool control.
Fields of application
- Low-alloy Cr-Mo steel piping and boilers, continuous service up to 570°C, especially high-responsibility root passes.

Advantages
- TIG rod format — tighter weld-pool and heat-input control than a covered electrode, useful on pipe root passes.
- Same Cr-Mo alloy grade as the FERVEO CMO 1B HD P2 80/15 electrodes — consistent in-service behavior across processes.
Limitations
- For higher temperature or pressure duty, see the higher steps of the FERVEO CMO family (2/5/9/91).
