Purpose

  • Solid Cr-Mo wire (1.2% Cr–0.5% Mo, EN ISO G/W CrMo1Si) — MIG/MAG welding of heat-resistant Cr-Mo steels up to 570°C, for piping and boilers.

Why it works

Adding chromium to molybdenum steps up creep and hot-oxidation resistance versus the FERVEO CMO Mo family — the same alloying principle as the FERVEO CMO 1B HD P2 80/15 electrodes, here in solid-wire form for MIG/MAG.

Fields of application

  • Low-alloy Cr-Mo steel piping and boilers, continuous service up to 570°C.

Advantages

  • Solid-wire format — mechanized/semi-automatic welding productivity and lower starting hydrogen than a covered electrode.
  • Same Cr-Mo alloy grade as the FERVEO CMO 1B HD P2 80/15 electrodes — consistent in-service behavior across processes.

Limitations

  • For higher temperature or pressure duty, see the higher steps of the FERVEO CMO family (2/5/9/91).
