Classification

DIN 8555 / EN 14700TIG 3-GF-60-T

Purpose

  • TIG flux-cored rod, tool steel with high molybdenum (8%) and tungsten, T Fe 4 / DIN 8555 class.
  • A more highly alloyed formulation than TLS 55 FCW — more molybdenum and tungsten, less chromium.

Why it works

The elevated molybdenum (8%) together with tungsten (1.6%) shifts the carbide system toward hot-wear resistance beyond TLS 55 FCW, at the cost of lower chromium (4% versus 7%) — a formulation closer to high-speed steel than to standard hot-work tool steels.

Fields of application

  • Precision surfacing of tool steel where hot-wear resistance beyond TLS 55 FCW is required.
  • TIG repair of parts with a high-speed-steel-like formulation.

Advantages

  • Higher molybdenum and tungsten content than TLS 55 FCW — superior hot-wear resistance.
  • Precise weld-pool control inherent to the TIG process.

Limitations

  • No final hardness value documented in the supplier datasheet — confirm with a shop trial before critical use.
