| DIN 8555 / EN 14700 | E 4-UM-60 S |
Purpose
- Hardfacing electrode for tool steel, DIN class E 4-UM-60 S, 60–62 HRC hardness.
- MIG-wire equivalent: GeKaTec TOOL 60 SG (manufacturer cross-reference).
Why it works
A covered electrode of a different DIN class than TLS 58 (E 4-UM-60 S versus E 3-UM-60 ST) with somewhat higher hardness (60–62 HRC versus TLS 58's 58 HRC) — the supplier datasheet doesn't detail the composition difference between the two classes, so choosing between TLS 58 and TLS 60 is best guided by each shop's proven track record.
Fields of application
- Surfacing tool-steel parts requiring 60 HRC hardness.
- Tooling repair where the MIG equivalent (GeKaTec TOOL 60 SG) isn't the available process.

Advantages
- Weldable on DC or AC — flexible depending on available equipment.
- Consistent 60 HRC hardness per DIN 8555.
Limitations
- Supplier datasheet gives no chemistry or detailed application data — hardness and DIN class are the only technical data available.
