Purpose

  • Basic-coated Cr13 martensitic-ferritic electrode (E 410-15), for joining and surfacing 13% Cr steel and its castings — also suited for gas, water and steam valve seats.

Why it works

Unlike the austenitic (300-series) families, this steel is martensitic: it hardens on cooling after welding, so the manufacturer requires annealing at 750°C for 2 hours with slow furnace cooling to restore ductility to the weld zone — a step the austenitic families don't need.

Fields of application

  • Joining and surfacing of martensitic and martensitic-ferritic 13% Cr steel and its castings.
  • Filling of gas, water and steam valve seats.
