Purpose
- Niobium-stabilized Cr-Ni-Mo rutile electrode (~E318-16) — same core as INX 316 but stabilized, for tanks and piping in food, chemical, textile and paint industry.
Why it works
Niobium stabilizes the deposit against chromium-carbide precipitation — the same role INX 347 plays over the 308 base, here applied to INX 316's Cr-Ni-Mo base, giving a deposit resistant to 400°C without losing the Mo's acid resistance.
Fields of application
- Tanks and piping in stabilized Cr-Ni-Mo steel, food, chemical, textile and paint industry.

Equivalence refers to the classification (AWS / EN ISO), not to product identity. In applications with a qualified procedure (WPS), validate the substitution before use.
Advantages
- Niobium-stabilized — resistant to 400°C.
- Weldable on DC+ or AC.
