Purpose
- TIG rod version of the Cr-Ni-Mo INX 309LMo wire — same use joining carbon/low-alloy steel to corrosion-resistant stainless.
Why it works
Same alloy as INX 309LMo MIG, as a TIG rod (DC-, I1 gas) — fine puddle control for root passes and intermediate layers.
Fields of application
- Joining unalloyed or low-alloy steel to corrosion-resistant stainless steel.
- Intermediate layers in dissimilar-steel joining.

Equivalence refers to the classification (AWS / EN ISO), not to product identity. In applications with a qualified procedure (WPS), validate the substitution before use.
Advantages
- Additional molybdenum (2.6%) — higher corrosion resistance than INX 309LSi.
- Controlled TIG arc — suited to root passes.
Limitations
- High ferrite content in the deposit: risk of sigma-phase embrittlement under sustained exposure at 600–900°C — not recommended for critical structures in that range.
