Classification

AWS classE 308 H- 16
EN ISO classE 19 9 H R 32

Purpose

  • Rutile electrode from the 308 family for high-temperature service (up to 700°C) — the "H" (controlled 0.04–0.08% carbon) version of INX 308L R, for AISI 304H/321H/347H.

Why it works

Same austenitic Cr-Ni core as INX 308L, but with slightly higher, controlled carbon (0.07% typical) for better creep strength at elevated temperature — the manufacturer states higher creep resistance than INX 308L R in the same service.

Fields of application

  • Joining and surfacing of high-temperature austenitic Cr-Ni steel and equivalent cast steel.
  • Continuous service up to 700°C.
