Purpose
- TIG rod version of the CrNiMn INX 307Si wire — same use joining austenitic manganese steels, dissimilar steels and high-carbon steels.
Why it works
Same alloy as INX 307Si MIG, as a TIG rod (DC-, I1 gas) — a more controlled arc for root passes or thinner sections.
Fields of application
- Joining of austenitic manganese steels, dissimilar steels and high-carbon steels.
- Buffer layer under hard-alloy armor plating.

Advantages
- Controlled TIG arc — suited to root passes and thin sections.
- High manganese content (7%): the deposit work-hardens, giving good wear resistance.
Limitations
- The deposit's work-hardening (high Mn) makes machining difficult unless done before it hardens.
