Purpose
- Super-austenitic Cr-Ni-Mo-Cu 27/31 solid wire, high copper content — exceptional resistance to hot sulfuric and phosphoric acid.
Why it works
The high Ni, Mo and Cu content (27Cr-31Ni-3.5Mo-0.9Cu) shifts corrosion resistance toward hot concentrated acidic media, a territory where standard austenitic families (308/316) fall short — copper in particular improves behavior against sulfuric acid.
Fields of application
- Super-austenitic stainless steel and equivalents: DIN 1.4563, AISI 383-type applications.

Advantages
- Excellent resistance to hot sulfuric and phosphoric acid.
- Copper addition for improved behavior in concentrated acidic media.
- Weldable on MIG/MAG and TIG.
Limitations
- Very low carbon (max 0.025%) — demands good weld-pool cleanliness to preserve this property.
- Specific use for acidic environments; not a first choice for general-purpose service.
