Purpose

  • Cr-Mo-V-W-Nb super-hardfacing electrode (EN ISO E Fe16, DIN 8555 E 10-UM-65 GRZ), 63–67 HRC — the hardest in the FERVEO HRF family, for extreme sliding mineral abrasion.

Why it works

Combines chromium with molybdenum, vanadium, tungsten, and niobium — a dense mix of complex carbides gives the highest hardness and abrasion resistance in the whole FERVEO HRF electrode family, for the most extreme sliding-abrasion service.

Fields of application

  • Blast furnace cover mechanisms, breakers, mixers, augers — and generally coal mining and the cement and non-metallic minerals industry, under extreme sliding abrasion.

Equivalence refers to the classification (AWS / EN ISO), not to product identity. In applications with a qualified procedure (WPS), validate the substitution before use.

Advantages

  • The highest hardness and abrasion resistance in the whole FERVEO HRF electrode family.
  • High deposition efficiency (≈230%).

Limitations

  • Unlike FERVEO HRF 600/650, do not apply more than two filling passes with this electrode, and do not hammer or water-cool the hot bead — those techniques are for HRF 600/650, not for this harder family.
  • The most complex, hardest carbide deposit in the family is also the most crack-sensitive — needs a tough filling layer beneath it and is not suited to impact-loaded parts.
