Purpose

  • Solid MIG/MAG wire for medium-hardness surfacing (225-275 HB), also weldable on TIG — for gears, rails and shafts.

Why it works

The lowest hardness step in the MIG surfacing family — suited both for direct surfacing of moderate-hardness parts and as a buffer layer under a much harder overlay, keeping the extreme hardness from cracking the base metal.

Fields of application

  • Surfacing gear teeth, rails and shafts.
  • Buffer layer under harder overlays.

Advantages

  • Weldable on MIG/MAG and also TIG.
  • Moderate hardness (225-275 HB) — suited to parts needing some toughness.
  • Works as a buffer layer under harder overlays.
