Purpose
- Cobalt-based flux-cored wire, Stellite type 12, 48–50 HRC — hardness between type 1 and 6 — for abrasion, thermal shock and corrosion.
Why it works
A cobalt-based alloy (Stellite 12 type) with high resistance to abrasion, temperature shocks and corrosion, at a hardness midway between Stellite 1 and 6. Particularly suited to cutting edges. Requires M13 gas.

- Hardfacing cutting edges of long knives and other cutting tools.
- Wood, plastic, paper and chemical industries.
