Purpose
- TIG Cr-Mo rod (9% Cr–1% Mo, EN ISO G/W CrMo 9 (Si)) — TIG welding of creep-resistant steels up to 600°C, for boilers, tanks, piping, reactors, and the oil industry.
Why it works
The higher chromium content (9%) steps up creep and hot-oxidation resistance versus the FERVEO CMO 5 family — the same alloying principle as the FERVEO CMO 9/9B electrodes, here in rod form for the TIG process's tighter weld-pool control.
Fields of application
- Boilers, tanks, piping, reactors, and the oil industry, especially high-responsibility root passes.

Advantages
- TIG rod format — tighter weld-pool and heat-input control than a covered electrode, useful on root passes.
- Same Cr-Mo alloy grade (9Cr) as the FERVEO CMO 9/9B electrodes — consistent in-service behavior across processes.
Limitations
- For higher temperature or pressure duty, see the family's top step (FERVEO CMO 91, vanadium-modified).
