Purpose

  • TIG Cr-Mo rod (2.7% Cr–1% Mo, EN ISO G/W CrMo2Si) — TIG welding of heat-resistant Cr-Mo steels up to 600°C, for P22-grade piping and boilers.

Why it works

More chromium than the FERVEO CMO 1 family (2.7% versus 1.2%) steps up creep and hot-oxidation resistance — the same alloying principle as the FERVEO CMO 2B HD P2/2B HD P2 15 electrodes, here in rod form for the TIG process's tighter weld-pool control.

Fields of application

  • P22-grade Cr-Mo steel piping and boilers, continuous service up to 600°C, especially high-responsibility root passes.

Advantages

  • TIG rod format — tighter weld-pool and heat-input control than a covered electrode, useful on pipe root passes.
  • Same Cr-Mo alloy grade (P22) as the FERVEO CMO 2B HD P2/2B HD P2 15 electrodes — consistent in-service behavior across processes.

Limitations

  • For higher temperature or pressure duty, see the higher steps of the FERVEO CMO family (5/9/91).
