Classification

EN ISO classT Fe 8
DIN 8555 / EN 14700TIG 6-GF-55-T

Purpose

  • TIG flux-cored rod, Cr-Mo tool steel, hardness per T Fe 8 / DIN 8555 class.
  • Chromium (7%) and molybdenum (2%) for wear resistance in precision hardfacing.

Why it works

Chromium (7%) and molybdenum (2%) on a medium-high carbon base (0.55%) form carbides that raise the deposit's wear resistance — being a TIG process with a flux-cored rod, it allows finer weld-pool control than a covered electrode, useful on parts with delicate geometry.

Fields of application

  • Precision surfacing of tool steel on parts with delicate geometry.
  • TIG repair where fine weld-pool control is required.

Advantages

  • More precise pool control than a covered electrode, thanks to the TIG process.
  • Chromium and molybdenum provide wear resistance via carbide formation.

Limitations

  • No final hardness value documented in the supplier datasheet — confirm with a shop trial before critical use.
