Purpose
- Solid MIG wire and TIG rod for carbon and low-alloy steel, especially suited to thin galvanized sheet (AWS ER 70S-3, EN ISO G 42 4 M21 G2Si1).
Why it works
This entry step's low Si-Mn composition performs well on electrolytically or hot-dip galvanized thin sheet, where excess deoxidizing elements can cause porosity.
Fields of application
- Electrolytically or hot-dip galvanized thin sheet, and general carbon and low-alloy steel, by MIG or TIG.

Equivalence refers to the classification (AWS / EN ISO), not to product identity. In applications with a qualified procedure (WPS), validate the substitution before use.

Advantages
- Available as both MIG wire and TIG rod under the same reference — a single consumable for both processes.
- Good behavior on thin galvanized sheet, where wires with heavier deoxidation can cause porosity.
Limitations
- For low-alloy steel with higher mechanical-strength demands, see FERVEO STL SG2/SG3.
