Purpose
- Bare solid wire for submerged-arc welding (SAW), with more manganese than FERVEO SAW S2 (EN ISO 14171 S3, EN ISO S 3).
Why it works
Continues the FERVEO SAW ladder's manganese progression (S1→S2→S3→S4), stepping up mechanical strength of the deposit once combined with flux once more.
Fields of application
- Machinery, tank, structural-steel, vehicle and shipbuilding fabrication, in carbon-steel joints welded by submerged arc.
Chemical composition

Advantages
- One mechanical-strength step above FERVEO SAW S2, within the same unalloyed bare-wire family.
Limitations
- Without flux it isn't a complete consumable — pair with a suitable FERVEO FLX flux.
- For even higher strength, see FERVEO SAW S4.
