Purpose
- Bare solid wire for submerged-arc welding (SAW), with higher silicon content than FERVEO SAW S2 (AWS EM12K, EN ISO S 2 Si).
Why it works
Higher silicon content favors weld-pool deoxidation and bead fluidity in combination with the flux, useful on higher heat-input passes or with fluxes that have lower inherent deoxidizing power.
Fields of application
- Machinery, tank, structural-steel, vehicle and shipbuilding fabrication, at the same mechanical-strength step as FERVEO SAW S2.

Advantages
- Better deoxidation and bead fluidity than FERVEO SAW S2 at the same mechanical-strength step — useful with fluxes of lower deoxidizing power.
Limitations
- Without flux it isn't a complete consumable — pair with a suitable FERVEO FLX flux.
