Classification

Purpose
- Bare solid wire for submerged-arc welding (SAW), with more manganese than FERVEO SAW S1 (AWS EM12, EN ISO S 2).
Why it works
Higher manganese content than FERVEO SAW S1 steps up the mechanical strength of the deposit once combined with flux — the most widely used step in the FERVEO SAW ladder for its balance of strength and weldability.
Fields of application
- Machinery, tank, structural-steel, vehicle and shipbuilding fabrication, in carbon-steel joints welded by submerged arc.

| Replaces AS S2 (Askaynak) | Direct replacement |
Equivalence refers to the classification (AWS / EN ISO), not to product identity. In applications with a qualified procedure (WPS), validate the substitution before use.

Advantages
- One mechanical-strength step above FERVEO SAW S1, with the same high-productivity process.
- Also applicable to vehicle fabrication, a somewhat wider coverage than FERVEO SAW S1.
Limitations
- Without flux it isn't a complete consumable — pair with a suitable FERVEO FLX flux.
