Purpose
- High-strength, highly corrosion-resistant Ni-Cr-Mo solid TIG rod (alloy 625), for joining nickel alloys and dissimilar cryogenic steels.
- Service from -196°C to +550°C; scale resistant to 1200°C.
Why it works
Molybdenum (9%) and niobium (3.5%) in the Ni-Cr base raise both mechanical strength (Rm 800 MPa, the highest in this datasheet) and resistance to pitting and stress-corrosion cracking — niobium also stabilizes the deposit against carbide precipitation, like NIC 82 but with higher chemical resistance from the molybdenum.
Fields of application
- Joining nickel alloys (625, alloy 25-6Mo) and dissimilar cryogenic steels from -196°C to +550°C.
- High-demand dissimilar-metal welding: high-strength heat-treatable steels, heat-resisting steels.
