Purpose
- Essentially pure nickel solid TIG rod (Ti-deoxidized) for welding Nickel 200/201 and dissimilar high-nickel joints.
- Joining Nickel 200/201 to stainless steel, carbon steel and cupro-nickel alloys.
Why it works
Titanium (3%) acts as a deoxidizer and grain stabilizer in an essentially unalloyed nickel matrix — necessary because pure nickel is especially prone to porosity from dissolved sulfur and oxygen, an issue the higher-chromium NiCr alloys in this datasheet don't have.
Fields of application
- Welding Nickel 200/201 and equivalent alloys (2.4060, 2.4061, 2.4066).
- Dissimilar joining of Nickel 200/201 to stainless steel, carbon steel and cupro-nickel alloys.

Advantages
- Broad compatibility: pure nickel, stainless steel, carbon steel and cupro-nickel in the same dissimilar joint.
- Ti deoxidizer reduces the porosity typical of pure nickel.
Limitations
- Does not add mechanical or chemical resistance beyond this datasheet's NiCr/NiCrMo alloys — a pure-nickel-specific filler.
