Purpose
- Ni-Cr-Mo solid TIG rod (alloy 59) with high corrosion resistance in reducing and oxidizing environments.
- Joining and surfacing with matching or similar alloys.
Why it works
Molybdenum (16%) on a high-purity Ni-Cr base (low Fe, low Mn) produces a very clean deposit with excellent ductility (A5 44%, the highest among this datasheet's NiCrMo alloys) without sacrificing mechanical strength (Rm 760 MPa) — a useful balance when the part needs to resist corrosion and also form or deform in service.
Fields of application
- Chemical process equipment in reducing and oxidizing environments.
- Joining and surfacing with matching or similar alloys (2.4602, 2.4605, 2.4610).

Advantages
- Highest ductility among this datasheet's NiCrMo alloys (A5 44%).
- Good balance between corrosion resistance and mechanical strength (Rm 760 MPa).
Limitations
- Supplier datasheet has no documented TIG gas data for this variant — confirm parameters with the manufacturer.
- High-cost alloy — reserve for service that genuinely needs this chemical resistance.
