Material no. (W.-Nr.)1.4455

Purpose

  • Non-magnetic, sea-water resistant Cr-Ni-Mo-N 20/16/2.7 solid wire — for joining and surfacing quench-and-temper Ni steels down to -196°C.

Why it works

The extra nitrogen and manganese versus INX 316LSi give it sea-water resistance and make it non-magnetizable — built for quench-and-temper Ni steels in cryogenic service, on top of general use on Cr-Ni(N)/Cr-Ni-Mo(Mn,N) steels.

Fields of application

  • Cr-Ni(N) and Cr-Ni-Mo(Mn,N) steels, stabilized and unstabilized.
  • Quench-and-temper Ni steels for low-temperature service down to -196°C.
