Purpose

  • Mn-Ni-Cr-Mo basic electrode at the top step of the FERVEO HTS ladder (AWS E 12018-G H4, EN ISO E 69 5 Z Mn2NiCrMo B 4 2 H5).

Why it works

Higher chromium content than FERVEO HTS 690B5 on the same Mn-Ni-Cr-Mo system takes the FERVEO HTS mechanical-strength ladder to its top, while keeping the B5 sub-family's low-temperature toughness certification.

Fields of application

  • Fine-grained steel, cementation steel, quenched-and-tempered steel and very-high-strength cast steel for naval/structural use, and API 5L pipe up to X80.

  • Declared Charpy toughness slightly lower than the earlier steps of the B5 sub-family — check against the qualified WPS for very-low-temperature service.
