Purpose

  • Manganese-alloyed, low-hydrogen basic electrode (H4) (AWS E 8018-G H4, EN ISO E 50 3 B 42 H5), also intended for rail-steel repair.

Why it works

Manganese hardening, without nickel, gives the next FERVEO HTS ladder step with a simpler alloy system; this class's impact test ("3" in the EN ISO designation) is certified at a less demanding temperature than the "6" sub-family (420B6/460B6/550B6).

Fields of application

  • Carbon-manganese steel, cast steel, and high-strength rail-steel repair — API 5L pipe up to X70.
