Purpose
- Rutile flux-cored wire (FCW) for 490-550 N/mm2 high-tensile steel, with good low-temperature toughness (AWS E81T1-Ni1 C, EN ISO T 46 4 1Ni P C 1) — the entry point of the FERVEO HTS FCW range.
Why it works
The rutile flux gives a smooth, stable arc with low spatter and good bead wetting, while the wire's nickel alloying keeps toughness in the cold — a combination built for production welding with good surface finish in all positions.
Fields of application
- General fabrication in carbon and low-alloy steel of medium-to-high-strength pipe and structural sections (API 5L X42-X80 grades and EN/ASTM equivalents).

Equivalence refers to the classification (AWS / EN ISO), not to product identity. In applications with a qualified procedure (WPS), validate the substitution before use.

Advantages
- Smooth arc, low spatter and good weldability — suited to manual and semi-automatic shop-floor production welding.
- Weldable in all positions, unlike the metal-cored FERVEO HTS 500 FCW variant (restricted to flat and horizontal-fillet).
Limitations
- For higher mechanical strength, see the FERVEO HTS 620 FCW / 690 FCW steps.
