Purpose
- Ni-Cu-Cr alloyed, low-hydrogen basic electrode for weather-exposed structural steel of the COR-TEN type (AWS E7018-G/7018-W1(mod.) H4, EN ISO E 42 3 Z NiCrCu B 42 H5) — the first reference in the FERVEO HTS weathering-steel sub-family.
Why it works
The combined nickel-copper-chromium alloy reproduces, in the welded deposit, the same self-healing protective oxide layer that characterizes weathering steels (COR-TEN and equivalents), so the weld joint doesn't become the corrosion-resistance weak point in the structure.
Fields of application
- Unpainted, weather-exposed steel structures (COR-TEN and equivalents), where the weld needs to match the base metal's atmospheric-corrosion behavior.

Equivalence refers to the classification (AWS / EN ISO), not to product identity. In applications with a qualified procedure (WPS), validate the substitution before use.

Advantages
- Ni-Cu-Cr alloy matches the weathering steel's atmospheric-corrosion behavior — the weld doesn't become the weak point against corrosion.
- Weldable in all positions except vertical-down, with very low hydrogen content in the deposit.
Limitations
- Specifically intended for weather-exposed weathering steel — for conventional carbon steel without that requirement, the main FERVEO HTS ladder (420B6 and above) is the standard choice.
