Purpose

  • Metal-cored wire for tooling, 53–56 HRC, that keeps its strength at temperature.

Why it works

Cr-Mo-W-V alloy combining wear resistance with hot-hardness stability. Metal core: stable arc and good deposition. Requires M21 gas.

Fields of application

  • Cold- and hot-work tool steels.
  • Hot-forming knives, extrusion dies and steel casting dies.

Equivalence refers to the classification (AWS / EN ISO), not to product identity. In applications with a qualified procedure (WPS), validate the substitution before use.

Advantages

  • Excellent wear resistance with stable hot hardness.
  • Metal-cored — stable arc and good deposit.
  • 53–56 HRC, hardness/toughness balance.

Limitations

  • Needs shielding gas (M21).
