Purpose

  • Highest-alloy chromium hardfacing electrode (EN ISO E Z Fe14, AWS ~E FeCr-A8), 60–64 HRC — maximum resistance to extreme mineral abrasion, in high-efficiency stringer beads.

Why it works

The highest chromium content in the FERVEO HRF 60/62/63 trio (34%) together with high carbon gives the densest chromium-carbide network — the hardest, most abrasion-resistant deposit in the group, laid down as high-efficiency stringer beads (≈220% efficiency).

Fields of application

  • High-efficiency stringer beads on earth-moving equipment, cement plants, and brick manufacturing, under extreme mineral abrasion.

Equivalence refers to the classification (AWS / EN ISO), not to product identity. In applications with a qualified procedure (WPS), validate the substitution before use.

Advantages

  • The highest abrasion resistance in the FERVEO HRF 60/62/63 trio.
  • High deposition efficiency (≈220%) — more weld metal per electrode than a conventional rod.

Limitations

  • Unlike FERVEO HRF 600/650, do not apply more than two filling passes with this electrode, and do not hammer or water-cool the hot bead — those techniques are for HRF 600/650, not for this harder family.
  • More brittle under impact — not suited to impact-loaded parts; tougher options like FERVEO HRF 600 perform better there.
