Classification

DIN 8555 / EN 14700MF 10-GF-55 G

Purpose

  • Self-shielded flux-cored wire (open arc) with chromium carbides, 58–62 HRC, for severe abrasive wear.

Why it works

Chromium carbides in a eutectic matrix give very high abrasion-oriented hardness. Transverse stress-relief cracks in the bead are normal and do not impair function. Open arc, no gas.

Fields of application

  • Bucket teeth and excavator buckets, brick-press springs, fan blades, drills, mixers and blades, grinding/pulverising rolls and table segments, wear plates.
  • Clad pipe, dredge-pump shells and related components, hammers.

Equivalence refers to the classification (AWS / EN ISO), not to product identity. In applications with a qualified procedure (WPS), validate the substitution before use.

Base metals

Hardfacing of bucket teeth, excavator buckets, brick press springs, fan blades, drills, mixers and blades, grinding/pulverizing rolls and table segments, wear plates, clad pipe, dredge pump shells and related components, hammers

Advantages

  • 58–62 HRC — severe abrasion.
  • No gas needed — open arc.
  • Chromium carbides, high wear resistance.

Limitations

  • Maximum two passes with this wire.
  • Transverse cracks in the bead are normal (do not impair function).
  • Machinable only by grinding.
