Purpose

  • Surfacing electrode for hot-work molds and dies (380-440 HB), retaining its hardness up to 500°C.
  • Alloyed with Cr-Mo-V-W to resist tempering from service temperature.

Why it works

The Cr, Mo, V and W alloy gives a temper-resistant deposit — it does not lose hardness even when the tool works hot (up to 500°C), unlike a simple overlay that would soften under repeated process heat.

Fields of application

  • Surfacing hot-work molds and dies.
  • Steel parts for hot-work tooling.
