Purpose
- Surfacing electrode for hot-work molds and dies (380-440 HB), retaining its hardness up to 500°C.
- Alloyed with Cr-Mo-V-W to resist tempering from service temperature.
Why it works
The Cr, Mo, V and W alloy gives a temper-resistant deposit — it does not lose hardness even when the tool works hot (up to 500°C), unlike a simple overlay that would soften under repeated process heat.
Fields of application
- Surfacing hot-work molds and dies.
- Steel parts for hot-work tooling.

Advantages
- Retains hardness up to 500°C — resists tempering in service.
- Allows pre-heating and slow cooling according to the base material.
